Energy Sector Event; Fuelling Innovation in the Electricity Supply Chain

The scale of required investment to overhaul the UK’s energy infrastructure to support a dynamic, low carbon economy is unprecedented.  The necessity of an evolving energy mix will fuel innovation and the adoption of new technologies, leading to a profound transformation in the way we produce, consume and transport electricity.

Inflexion co-hosted a networking event focused on the future of the ‘Smart Grid’ space and the role for SME’s in developing a strong UK supply chain to lead innovation in this exciting market.

Together with BEAMA, the trade body representing the interests of a collection of trade associations in the energy and power industry, the event brought together representatives from Ofgem, DECC, UKTI, electricity network operators and over 40 UK-based SMEs to explore the significant opportunities for the sector.

The discussion centred on how to address the challenges faced in driving innovation and the preparedness of the UK supply chain for Smart Grids, both domestically and internationally.
