Jack Wills crowned Best Brand in Buyout Track 100 awards
Jack Wills has won the award for Best Brand in the Buyout Track 100 awards. Presented to Peter Williams and Rob Shaw by business editor of The Sunday Times, Dominic O’Connell, the award recognises the success of the brand amongst its private equity-backed peers. Other well-known brands featured in this year’s Buyout Track 100 include lovefilm.com and Yo Sushi.
The judging panel recognised Jack Wills as a very strong brand within its marketplace and noted that within the company the brand ethos is core to the way the business operates, so it immediately stood out amongst the others shortlisted.
The Buyout Track awards dinner brought together the owners and directors of Britain’s 100 fastest-growing private equity-backed companies. The evening opened with an optimistic talk from Mark Dixon, founder of LSE-listed serviced office provider Regus. Mark summarised Regus’ rise to flotation, and the role private equity played in funding growth, but also in funding the rescue of the UK business. He urged the companies in the room to use the recession to their advantage, and concluded with confidence that green shoots are out there.
