Inflexion hosts first internationally focused portfolio company forum

Last week Inflexion brought together the leaders of its portfolio companies for an event focused on the strategies, challenges and successes of sourcing and selling overseas. Joined by the teams from Inflexion’s offices in Brazil, China and India, CEOs, Chairmen and international operators from its investee companies discussed how to enter or develop their footprint in these markets.

In addition to the introduction of its support office’s capabilities, three of Inflexion’s portfolio companies shared their diverse international experiences:

• Aspen Pumps talked about managing international distributors;
• FDM on growing into the US; and
• Griffin Global explained the highs and lows of running a BPO operation in India.

The afternoon allowed for breakout sessions, with discussions on sales, sourcing and BPO, with the format providing an opportunity for management teams to network and learn from each other’s experiences.

Inflexion expanded its international footprint with the recruitment of teams in Brazil, China and India to support portfolio development in April 2012, and in the few months since has seen great interest from its portfolio companies. Inflexion’s international team members are experienced entrepreneurs and business consultants, and portfolio companies can now benefit from dedicated professionals in local offices offering insight and access to these fast growing economies to grow sales, improve cost management and increase EBITDA.
