Inflexion appoints David Whileman, ex-Head of UK Private Equity at 3i

Inflexion Private Equity today announces the appointment of David Whileman as Partner. David leaves 3i to join Inflexion and will lead an increased focus on investing in minority situations in the UK mid market.

David brings with him considerable experience, most recently at 3i where he was Head of UK Private Equity responsible for growth capital and buyout investments. He was also a founding Partner of 3i’s €1.2bn Growth Capital Fund, targeting minority investment in high growth, mid market companies where he took the leading role in investments such as Foster + Partners, Hyperion Insurance and Hayley Conference Centres.

Inflexion has built a strong track record investing in growth buyouts. Backing entrepreneurial businesses and working with their management teams to create value. Investing in minority situations alongside management buyouts is core to Inflexion’s strategy, adding David to the team will enable an increased focus on the minorities market and will also add further expertise to the firm’s buyout capability.
