Inflexion is pleased to announce it has agreed to sell Cawood Scientific, the UK’s largest independent provider of accredited agriculture and environmental testing services, to Waterland Private Equity.

Cawood offers a multi-disciplinary analytical sampling and testing service into the agronomy, livestock, agrochemical and environmental renewables sectors and currently serves over 3,000 customers. Headquartered in Berkshire, the Company operates across five accredited laboratories and an accredited sampling business, supported by a team of c.350 people in the UK and Ireland.

Since the investment by Inflexion, the Company has continued to develop its offering and established new services. This has been supported by the successful acquisition of three businesses which have broadened Cawood’s breadth of service into adjacent market sectors and geographically as well as meaningfully enhancing scale. The business has also benefitted from investment in technology and data optimisation leading to an improved customer offering and resourcing efficiency.
