The Inflexion Foundation is pleased to announce it is strengthening its commitment to football charity the Kinetic Foundation through a grant of £50,000 per annum for the next three years.
Kinetic aims to improve the confidence, skills and aspirations of young Londoners through football as well as a wide range of educational opportunities to learn new skills and improve their employment potential. The charity supports disadvantaged and/or disengaged young people from the most deprived areas in London who are more likely to academically underachieve, become NEET (not in education, employment or training) and experience certain health-related issues. 98% of Kinetic’s academy graduates advanced to higher education, training, and over 60 have been signed by professional football clubs.
Inflexion has worked with Kinetic since 2021, and in summer 2022 Inflexion brought together its adviser network to host a 16-team football tournament. In addition to raising money, the event also raised Kinetic’s profile as a charity. The grant from Inflexion will support Kinetic’s ambitious plans including the establishment of a girls’ academy, new academy sites across London and surrounding counties, and an extracurricular programme concentrating on contact with employers, life skills, employability skills and mentoring to improve career prospects.
We have been moved and inspired by the impact Kinetic has through its programmes aimed at transforming disengaged youth into enthusiastic young people with substantially improved prospects through sport. We look forward to deepening our relationship in the coming years.
Through both financial and volunteering commitments, Inflexion are a valuable partner of the Kinetic Foundation. Their continued support enables us to widen participation, deliver key activities with our participants and deepen our impact recording and reporting. This will strengthen Kinetic in the future and ensure that we are delivering on our mission.
