Inflexion Private Equity Partners LLP (“Inflexion”) is delighted to announce that it supported 97 new investment opportunities for its portfolio in 2021, helping to drive value and accelerate sustainable growth in the UK and internationally. The volume of M&A is the highest in Inflexion’s history and adds over £120 million of EBITDA to Inflexion’s portfolio.
Acquisitive growth has been a key pillar of Inflexion’s growth acceleration strategies since inception. Other proven value drivers include digital transformation, international expansion, commercial effectiveness and talent enhancement. Every business backed by Inflexion, whether a buyout or minority partnership, has access to our support in these areas. On average, the companies we partner with grow their revenues by 20% p.a. and double their headcount.
Portfolio M&A supported by Inflexion in 2021 includes:
- DR&P, a specialist commercial insurance broker, has made five acquisitions since Inflexion invested in it during 2021 as it seeks to consolidate a fragmented market
- Halo, a global vendor of optical transceivers, was created in 2017 with Inflexion’s investment in UK business ProLabs followed by the transformational acquisition of US-based AddOn Computer Peripherals less than six months later. Further M&A completed in 2021 included Benelux-based Solid Optics and Skylane Optics as well as Aria Technologies in the US, all of which expanded Halo’s product and geographic offering. Inflexion exited Halo in December for over $715m, generating 6x money for Inflexion investors
- K2, a specialist ERP and cloud human capital resourcing business, made three acquisitions in 2021 to expand and enhance its geographic footprint across Western Europe and Asia
- Roofing specialist Marley purchased Viridian Solar, adding new products to its sustainable offering
- Ocorian, a fund, corporate and trust administration business, undertook 11 acquisitions in nine countries since Inflexion led its carve-out in 2016. These include the transformational purchase of Estera in 2019 and bond services company Nordic Trustee in Oslo in 2021, further enhancing its service offering and geographic footprint
- Phenna Group, a provider of specialist testing, inspecting and certification services, made 14 acquisitions during the year
- Radius, a fleet payment processing and telematics provider, has made 19 acquisitions since our 2017 Partnership Capital minority investment, seven of which were in 2021, including that of CanTrack, a stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) telematics business, and Modus Group, which helped the firm to strengthen its North American tracking business and offer new products
