Inflexion invests in Swedish consumer marketplace platform, Mecenat

Inflexion, a leading European mid-market private equity firm, is pleased to announce that it has invested in Mecenat Group AB (“Mecenat” or “the Group”), a leading closed user group consumer loyalty platform, headquartered in Sweden. This is the first investment made by Inflexion’s Enterprise Fund VI, which closed at its hard cap of £975 million in September this year.

Mecenat is a digitally-led, omni-channel marketplace which connects students, alumni, young professionals and seniors with well-known brands by providing access to exclusive offers, career services and relevant events. Operating across five main business areas in Sweden and Finland, the Group takes pride in connecting almost three million members with more than 700 local and global brands, creating savings for key consumer groups, who are in turn early in their loyalty and lifetime journey with brands.

Mecenat’s platform spans diverse industries, including Technology, Fashion, Travel and Entertainment and includes key partners such as Apple, Hotels.com and H&M. Its services are primarily digital, allowing for a two-way exchange between brands and members through Mecenat’s apps and websites. In recent years, Mecenat has expanded through the acquisitions of Seniordays, Frank Students and Traineeguiden, adding both geographic and demographic reach as well as a new vertical within career services.

Inflexion’s digital team will work with the business to advance its technology, data and product offering, which will improve the user experience for members and unlock more value for consumers and brands alike. Inflexion’s significant M&A experience will allow the business to continue with this successful growth strategy, and its international offices will help to identify attractive targets in new markets.
