The Inflexion Foundation funds an Earthwatch Green Earth School

The Inflexion Foundation is pleased to announce it has funded a Green Earth School through Earthwatch Europe, an environmental charity which helps children live in balance with nature. The Inflexion Foundation has committed £25,000 to fund the project at Argyle Primary School near Kings Cross in London.

Earthwatch believes that every child and young person should have access to greenspaces to help build a strong and sustained connection with nature. This is important because one third of UK households have inadequate access to greenspaces, with children from BAME backgrounds and in lower income households disproportionately affected.

Earthwatch Europe’s Green Earth Schools programme transforms school grounds into nature-rich spaces for exceptional outdoor learning and play. Earthwatch provides training to teachers to build their skills and confidence in leading inspiring outdoor and environmental learning, enabling the school to use the nature feature to maximum effect. Developed in partnership with LEGO® Build The Change, the programme collaborates with schools in highly deprived areas to create the optimal nature features for their grounds to support outdoor learning, helping to build a strong connection to nature and inspire solutions-based approaches to environmental challenges. These skills and experiences will enable more students to choose the green careers that are needed to tackle the climate crisis.
