Inflexion, a leading European mid-market private equity firm, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded ‘Portfolio Innovation Award’ at the Actum Group Private Equity Value Creation Awards for its support for launching a new, tech enabled product for global manufacturer of fire detector testing equipment, Detectortesters. The award recognises businesses that have introduced novel ways of growing a company or applied new or revolutionary value creation strategies that have led to material improvements to a particular business.

With the support of the Inflexion value acceleration team, Detectortesters set out on a digitalisation journey with the introduction of a new connected product. The Inflexion value acceleration team utilised their strong technology and product skills to drive the development of a new digital enabled, subscription-based smoke detector product, the XTR2. Since launch in early 2024, over two million tests have been completed using the XTR2, in the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
