About

In 2005 Inflexion led the buyout of real-time passenger information systems ACIS.

Profits doubled rapidly as ACIS expanded into France, the Netherlands and the Middle East. Its sale to the Carlyle Group generated a 3.3x return on investment.

Value acceleration

The buyout of family-run ACIS (Advanced Communications and Information Systems) in 2005 was followed by its acquisition of Tandata Systems, a business sourced by Inflexion which opened up new complementary markets in Europe and the Middle East.

The company’s employee numbers grew 27% during the 19-month partnership, and ACIS featured in The Sunday Times’ Tech Track 100 for three consecutive years. The company doubled profits ahead of schedule, allowing Inflexion and management to consider an exit sooner than anticipated. The sale to Carlyle Group in 2006 generated an IRR of 100%.
